Fruits are my healthy vices. In a day, as much as possible, I eat one or two (or sometimes more). When I go to the market, my eyes sparkle on grapes,banana,mandarin,strawberries, and kiwi waving at me.
I make it a point everyday to consume either one of these. I researched on google what these fruits do to my body and here’s what I found out:
grapes – i found out that grapes help reduce the build up of harmful oxidized cholesterol causing coronary heart disease and stroke. Research also shows that grapes have “caffeic acid”. Its a strong cancer fighting substance. now how’s that for a benefit? the most enjoyable part of munching grapes is you can get smashed afterwards! 🙂 err…or maybe it’s just psychological thinking I’m gulping glasses of wine. You can try adding these to your healthy Kellogs breakfast cereals.Yummy.
banana- we all know this fruit is rich in potassium. It is said that a diet rich in K helps reduce the risk of hypertension and stroke. As bananas are free from sodium and very rich in potassium, they can be included in the diet to reduce the risk of high blood pressure.
mandarin – this is low in saturated fat, fat and sodium but high in vitamin C. no need for tablets to protect yourself from cough and colds as its natural nutrition gears up your body against air-born diseases. It is good in maintaining your figure.
Strawberries – its been described that this fruit is a superstar when it comes to anti oxidant power. Its a scavenger that binds cancer causing chemicals and make them inactive. Try dipping this on a cream mixed with condensed milk and its oohhh sooohh perfect!
Kiwi – this fruit is bursting with Vitamin C. Besides boosting your immune system, it also protects your arteries from damaging effects of free radicals. ITs also a good source of potassium, manganese, copper, vitamin e and magnesium. If you add this on top of your pavlova, well, brace yourself. You might forget yer name 🙂
